AIMS contributed significantly to a HEFCE funded project under the auspices of SCHOMS (Standing Committee for Heads of Media Services)

• Look at case studies of best practice inside and outside the HE sector
• Review technologies which can be used for output management
• Look at purchasing options
• Review existing VFM studies
• Develop a business plan and agenda for change
• Encourage institutions to take on the changes proposed and report on their progress.

The project reports (Getting Value for Money from Printing and Copying) are available on line.  They include detailed studies of the circumstances in which in-house reprographic arrangements can provide considerable financial savings to institutions.

AIMS' consultants are able to help institutions apply the outcomes of the project to their own arrangements, either by an audit process or a more detailed review.
